Ann Huckstep, the first woman appointed to chair the Executive Committee of one of Alabama’s leading law firms, is always ready for a challenge. When Adams & Reese (formerly Lange Simpson) needed to expand, she took the lead.

“We explored several options, but it was when we partnered with Brookmont that we saw we were thinking too small. The consensus they formed with the YMCA impressed us almost as much as the building. I still hold this up as a model to law students. What amazed me is how they listened to our concerns and helped us envision the possibilities instead of just going for something they could sell.”

Adams & Reese wanted not only to expand their space, but raise their profile as a lead tenant in an outstanding property. Brookmont helped Ann and her partners realize that the revival of the city center was their window of opportunity.

“Great things happen when clients don’t just bring you their challenges, but their dreams. Partnering with the YMCA and the city of Birmingham made it possible to build on a premier downtown site. What began as a law firm at a crossroads became the Concord Center. Lange Simpson has now merged with the firm of Adams and Reese to make the Concord Center the premier site for the largest law firm in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana.”
